Family owned since 1969, Long Lake Camp for the arts develops the highest art, the art of living. We are a non-competitive creative oasis for children ages 8 to 16 from all around the world. We offer a warm and nurturing community where campers live their dreams of making friends, exploring the performing and fine arts and self discovery. At Long Lake, every camper 100% creates their own schedule with the opportunity to shine no matter their level of interest or experience, we welcome you all. Due to our perfect size of only 250 campers, 140 caring and talented staff, stunning green forests, majestic mountains and shimmering lake location, Long Lake is a much trusted and one of a kind experience you cannot find anywhere else. Founded in 1969 by Maestro David and Jeannie Katz Long Lake Camp for the Arts is one of the longest running Performing and Fine Arts summer sleep away camps in the world. David’s love of summer camps was discovered when he worked at Bucks Rock Camp before creating his own vision of a summer performing and fine arts camp for children. David’s son then Marc took over and became the owner operator and since 1986 Marc and his wife Susan Katz own and run Long Lake jointly. We are situated on a 600 acre private estate nestled among the soaring mountains lush forests and sparkling blue lakes of the Adirondack Park in upstate New York. The Adirondack Park is America’s largest untouched forests of outstanding natural beauty. Camp Tour here.
Long Lake overnight Camp offers boys and girls ages 8 to 16, freedom to choose their own schedule from our core activities of Theatrical Arts, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Circus, Rock Bands, Film, Magic and Comedy. In addition we have wonderful fun sports and a beautiful sandy beach waterfront for fun and relaxation. You can combine our activities in an almost unlimited number of combinations, its up to you with our help. We have new campers attending Long Lake in all our age groups (except 16 year old’s in some sessions) along with very friendly returners.
We do not require an audition to attend camp and we accept beginners, intermediate and advanced artists and performers. We have 250 campers per session with 140 staff dedicated to making each summer the best possible. Our campers come from more than 40 different states in the America and from 20 different countries. They choose Long Lake to meet like minded friends who share their creative passions and endeavors . Our campers all want to become better creative artists and performers while learning about themselves as individuals as well as a member of a warm and friendly creative community.
Our unique Unit Leader program is the only one of its kind at any summer camp. They are mature staff who wake up every day wondering how they can make your campers day the best possible. They communicate regularly with parents and are the reason campers overcome their homesickness at Long Lake.

Our campers are learning how to be away from home, speak up, make choices, improve their skills and how to make the most wonderful friendships that last long beyond the summer. By finding campers who share the same interests and giving them a truly open, safe and supportive environment , Long Lake helps children to be themselves, act their age and gain in confidence.
